LPR Foundation ha marcado un nuevo hito en su misión de mejorar la salud infantil en Colombia. El Hospital Universidad del Norte fue el escenario donde se realizó el primer tamizaje del programa Global Health Initiative, una iniciativa diseñada para la detección temprana de cardiopatías congénitas en recién nacidos.
Este evento representa un gran avance en la región, ya que el programa, en alianza con el Nicklaus Children ‘s Hospital de Miami, busca disminuir la mortalidad infantil a través de la implementación del tamizaje neonatal cardíaco.
La fundación tiene como objetivo llevar este tipo de exámenes a más hospitales y clínicas en todo el país. Lorena Perozo, CEO de LPR Foundation, destacó la importancia de este primer paso: “Es un honor haber comenzado este programa en el Hospital Universidad del Norte. Cada tamizaje es una oportunidad de salvar una vida y aseguramos que cada bebé tenga un futuro más saludable.”
Este primer tamizaje no sólo marca el inicio de una nueva etapa para el programa, sino que también refuerza el compromiso de LPR Foundation de llevar una atención pediátrica integral y especializada a las comunidades más vulnerables de Colombia.
